About Jill

Welcome to Joy in the Small Things, where small victories are celebrated, especially as it relates to recovering alcohol and drug addicts. My name is Jill Dixon and I am the director of the Learning Center in the one year residential treatment program at the Santa Barbara Rescue Mission.

I am passionate about my work and can help you improve your current  program, get your learning center up and running, as well as coach you (or your staff) and provide resources and support as you create the best program for your clients.

I have seen first hand the impact education has on clients that we serve through writing workshops, art therapy classes, book clubs, computer literacy courses, career counseling, and tutoring. For the past two years 100% of my clients are working when they leave the mission and many return to school part time or full time.

Whether your program is one month, one year, or somewhere in between, I can help you make the most of the time you have with your clients.
